Four Laval University students reportedly went to the Saint-Charles River bridge to take photos when a woman in the group fell into the water and one of the young men jumped into the water to rescue her.

The bridge where the tragedy allegedly took place connects the Duberger and Les Saules sectors.

The particularly strong flow and the water level on Sunday probably did not help the two young people who fell into the water. An event that was supposed to take place the same day in the Saint-Charles River was canceled due to the excessive flow.

Patrollers and dog handlers would have inspected the majority of the banks in the hope of finding something, but in vain.

“It upsets me; I couldn't work yesterday. My colleagues are comforting me,” said a friend of one of the missing in an interview with LCN.
