The Dutch airline KLM announced on Friday that it would cut up to 5,000 jobs by the end of 2021 because of the "crisis of unprecedented severity" caused by the pandemic of sars coronavirus.

"KLM is struggling with a crisis of an unprecedented scale, ( ... ) We expect that the road to recovery is long and full of uncertainties," said KLM in a statement.
