The railway company SNCB is studying the possibility of introducing a booking system for the travelers, she said Monday after consultation with the City of Ostend and the province of west Flanders. The City and the province had asked for this consultation after the very large influx of tourists in the station of Oostende on Friday. The transport company will place a large screen, real-time information to the outside of the train station of Ostend and reinforce the communication on the network traffic via social networks.

The SNCB, the city of Ostend and the province of west Flanders were discussed on Monday further measures possible for those who want to take the train to the seaside resort during future heat waves, which are planned for this week. The different parties have held consultations after hundreds of tourists and travelers were left stranded at the train station of Ostend because of a train stopped at the height of Jabbeke, a dozen of kilometres away from the commune.
