In this way, it complied with the European Commission Recommendation made the year before its approval, which took place in 2015. In September 2022, this mechanism was reformed aimed at speeding up the process and facilitating people's access to this second opportunity".Repara tu Deuda Abogados has helped, since the beginning of its activity in September 2015, people desperate due to the situation in which they found themselves. In fact, more than 20,000 individuals and freelancers have entrusted their case to the firm to start a new life and reactivate themselves in the economy. The law firm is a leader in the application of the Second Chance Law, having exceeded the figure of 160 million euros exonerated to its clients. This amount is expected to grow, considering the high number of procedures that are already underway and the inquiries that are received on a daily basis. This legislation allows individuals and the self-employed to be exonerated from paying their debts as long as they have previously acted in good faith, have not committed socioeconomic crimes in the last ten years, and that the amount owed does not exceed 5 million euros. People who do not meet the requirements to take advantage of this mechanism can also, alternatively, cancel credit cards, revolving cards, mini-loans, loans and mortgages. The office offers them the study of the contracts signed with banks and financial institutions to analyze the possible existence of abusive clauses.
