This new Regulation, whose entry into force is expected to take place between the end of this year and next 2023, will repeal the current Directive 2006/ 42/CE and will introduce significant changes in the field of machine safety, adapting to the technological advances that are taking place. Among the main innovations incorporated in the new regulations, the following three can be highlighted: • Obligation for the manufacturer to provide the end user with much more complete information in general and, in general, of the safety functions (Performance Level, etc.), so that the user himself can carry out the tests of the safety devices i nstalled. • Compulsory intervention of a Notified Body in machines considered to be at risk for certification, thus eliminating the possibility of justifying in the technical file that all essential health and safety requirements meet the criteria of harmonized standards. • Conversion into manufacturer of any user who makes a substantial modification to any machine, with all that this entails.
