It is in the heart of Rioja Alavesa at the foot of the Sierra Cantabria. It has an altitude of 572 meters above sea level and an area of 10.6 square kilometers that divides the town into two parts. On the one hand, the urban part made up mostly of family homes preserved in very good condition and, on the other, an environment covered by wineries with great history. The wines of this region, especially the almost 500 hectares that these eight wineries represent, owe their world fame for the fact that the area has a unique microclimate resulting from the confluence of the Atlantic and Mediterranean climates, with great influence from the former.
