In scandal surrounding analysis firm Cambridge Analytica, Facebook managing director Sheryl Sandberg has now also made mistakes. They reacted too slowly to processes, said Sandberg of Financial Times. "To this day, we don't know what data Cambridge Analytica has."

In a furr interview with Bloomberg, Sandberg announced that Facebook will inform all users about possible disclosure of ir data to third parties next Monday. It's supposed to be an easy way to delete se apps, Sandberg announced.

In mid-March it was known that British analysis firm Cambridge Analytica had come up with information from millions of Facebook users – via a survey app developer and without having to inform Facebook about it. On Thursday, company shared that up to 87 million users could be affected worldwide, including up to 2.7 million inhabitants of EU and around 310,000 users from Germany. This is much more than previously assumed. Since n, 50 million people have been considered. The data will be used, among or things, in election campaign of today's US president Donald Trump and in Brexit referendum.

Facebook has not been able to verify data in data analysis company as it is, because UK Data protection authority first gets access to it. Meanwhile, several parliaments have called for a statement by company founder Mark Zuckerberg, including parliaments of EU and USA. Zuckerberg has only pledged to testify on 10 April before US Congress.

In Germany, too, government is calling for clarification of Facebook, and federal Minister Katarina Barley (SPD) is also considering tightening rules for social networks. The president of federal Bundeskartellamt, Andreas Mundt said to Rheinische Post: "According to current state, we assume that Facebook will misuse its market power towards customers by way in which data from third-party sources are collected and exploited . " The social network would have to adapt its practice if cartel office were to remain in this finding. The cartel office has been investigating Facebook for two years. The authority predominantly considers social network to collect and revalue data on third parties without knowledge of user.

In mid-March, Zuckerberg promised to draw consequences of data scandal. Among or things, he announced that he would restrict access of third parties. This is primarily aimed at external app developers. On Wednesday, company announced that it would check each access authorization individually.

Tinder-Access temporarily disturbed

The consequences are for app operators, who offer a login via Facebook, but already noticeable today: thus users of Datingapp Tinder in meantime could not log on Facebook. It is not clear how many or apps are already affected or will be affected. Access via Facebook has been convenient for developers so far, because y have been able to save ir users a separate login.

In an interview with NBC News, Sandberg also emphasized that business model of Facebook relies on data. Without data-based advertising revenue, Facebook would have to introduce a payment model, said Sandberg. As a result of interview, Facebook made it clear that Sandberg had hypotical considerations. A payment model was not planned.
