Lucky Strike bringing new arcade concept to 16th Street Mall

The company behind Lucky Strike bowling alleys is bringing its new arcade concept to the 16th Street Mall.

Lucky Strike Entertainment will open a 13,000-square-foot For the Win arcade/gastropub this fall next door to its bowling alley on the third level of the Denver Pavilions, the downtown shopping center announced Monday.

It's the first Colorado location and just the third nationwide of For the Win, which combines state-of-the-art arcade games with chef-driven gastropub cuisine" and a full bar.

Gart Properties president Mark Sidell said the arcade should fit in well with the other entertainment and destination dining options on the Pavilions' third level.

In addition to Lucky Strike, the level is also home to the recently remodeled United Artists movie theater, H&M's new third floor, Lime restaurant, Coyote Ugly Saloon and Jazz @ Jack's.

"Lucky Strike has always been a strong player up there," Sidell said. "We wanted to find another entertainment use."

With the deal, the Pavilions' third level is also fully leased for the first time, he said — the latest in a wave of change at the downtown shopping center. Other recent first-to-market additions include Henry's Tavern and the Uniqlo store opening this fall.

For the Win Denver will boast more than 130 games, but unlike other arcades, you won't need coins, tickets or tokens.

A card-swiping system tracks balances and winnings, allowing customers to come and go without having to cash out, according to Lucky Strike. The Payoff, a 850-square-foot retail store inside the space, will feature more than 250 kinds of prizes.

The first For the Win opened in Chicago in 2015.

"It's really going to be a great millennial destination," Sidell said. "This will just solidify the Pavilions as the place to go when you're looking for entertainment downtown."
