Asedie, Multisector Information Association, presents, in the week of Open Administration, its 11th report: Data Economy in the infomediary field, in which more than 710 companies are already registered with a turnover of more than 2,278 million euros

ASEDIE has presented the 11th Report: "Economy of data in its infomediary field". This year, 710 active companies have been identified as of December 31, 2021 and, of the 542 for which data is available, 22,663 employees have been registered. The companies to which the Report refers reuse both public and private information and create value-added products for companies and society in general. In a world where the basis of decision-making depends more than ever on information and data, Asedie's objective is not only to promote the Infomediary Sector and, therefore, the Data Economy, but also to contribute to raising awareness in Society of the benefits and impact it brings. This edition of the Infomediary Sector report shows the good health of the industry, its resilience and the potential for future growth. The identification of new companies with infomediary activity only enriches the Ecosystem of all organizations that reuse public and private data. The entry of these new agents represents a further step in the promotion of a sector that already invoices close to €2,300 million per year. The data presented reflect the impact and potential of the Infomediary Sector. In the same way, it has been possible to observe the effectiveness of public-private collaboration within the world of data and the relevant position of the Sector that Asedie represents in the Spanish economy is reaffirmed. The presentation of the Report took place in the Enredadera room of Red.es, on Wednesday, March 22. The welcome was given by the director of Digital Public Services of Red.es, Mr. Francisco Javier García-Vieira who stressed the importance of taking advantage and use of open data and demonstrating, with figures, how open information and data can be converts it into wealth, added value and work. The inauguration of the act was carried out by the president of Asedie, D. Ignacio Jiménez and the opening presentation was given by Dª. Barbara Ubaldi from the OECD, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, who emphasized that thanks to ASEDIE's action, Spain is in a leadership position in the field of opening up the data necessary to boost economic growth. Mr. Javier Pérez Vera and Mr. Luis Hernández Cuadrado, president and vice-president respectively of the Asedie Information Sources Commission, presented the economic indicators and the impact of opening data through public-private collaboration. Mr. Carlos Alonso Peña, director of the Data Office division, gave the closing presentation: Initiatives and Advances of the Data Office in which he highlighted the relevance, among others, of configuring open access to data as a right Data from the Public Sector. Within the framework of the collaboration and research agreement with the Complutense University of Madrid and Asedie, in this 11th Report, the first results of the survey carried out on the agents of the Data Ecosystem have been presented. It has been possible to analyze the barriers and needs of these agents and it has been highlighted by 95% of those surveyed, the need to have a compendium of regulations that brings together all those that affect this Ecosystem and that helps to understand, work, act and advance in the opening and reuse of data. In the same act, the progress of the TOP 3 ASEDIE initiative was presented, started in 2019 and included in the IV Open Government plan, which has shown that sources can be harmonized of public data and put them at the service of the Company. Asedie works with the Administration to continue opening new sources, normalize open data and promote transparency in the broadest sense of the word. There are many agents that make up today the so-called Data Economy and have a firm commitment to creating wealth, employment and knowledge through the reuse of data. After 11 years of publishing this report, Asedie feels more than ever encouraged to continue its work of transmitting the value and direct impact of the Sector it represents in the Data Economy.
