UIC Barcelona has recognized the effort and dedication of more than 1,000 scholarship students.

The act was held within the framework of the festival of Santo Tomás de Aquino, patron saint of universities.

The event has had the representation of institutions and companies that have opted for the scholarship and aid program of the University.

Barcelona, ​​January 30, 2023.- The International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) celebrated the 2022-2023 academic year scholarship award ceremony in the University's Aula Magna on Friday, January 27. The event, organized within the framework of the festival of Santo Tomás de Aquino, patron saint of universities, puts the student at the center and recognizes their academic excellence, favoring equal opportunities.

The event was attended by more than 140 students who have been invited, from among the more than 1,000 UIC Barcelona scholarship students, either for receiving this grant for the first time or because they are finishing their time at the University this year.

The students were represented by Ignacio Lorda, a student of the Degree in Business Administration and Management, who gave a speech thanking the companies and the University for the opportunity to bet on talent, and by Laura Guix, Journalism alumni of the 21-21 promotion. 22. The students were accompanied by the different deans and deans of the faculties to which they belong.

Likewise, the awarding of scholarships was attended by representatives of the companies that have contributed to the University's scholarship and aid program in the last year, and who hand-delivered to the students the diploma accrediting their scholarship.

This year the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center, Damm Foundation, Maria Pou-Lunet Foundation, Maria Teresa Rodó Foundation, Mullor Facility Services, Santander Universities and Torrella Ingeniería-Arquitectura were present. Matías Rodríguez Inciarte, president of Santander Universities and vice-president of Universia, spoke on behalf of the companies.

The event was opened by the rector of UIC Barcelona, ​​Alfonso Méndiz, who thanked the companies for their contribution to the scholarship and aid programme, and closed by the vice-rector for the University Community, Esther Jiménez, who addressed the scholarship students to congratulate them and encourage them to continue in his trajectory in favor of excellence. In addition, deans from different faculties attended to accompany their scholarship students.

With this event, UIC Barcelona publicly congratulates all the scholarship recipients and thanks the companies and individuals who have invested in future talent for their commitment to student education. The scholarship and aid program is part of the annual campaign
