International leaders and scholars share perspectives for moving forward
HONG KONG, Nov. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- International Communication Forum: "Towards a Fairer and Safer World", jointly organized by Friday Culture Limited and Hong Kong Coalition, was held on November 2. The Forum was officiated by John KC LEE, CEO of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region; LU Xinning, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in HKSAR; YANG Yirui, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China in HKSAR; Regina IP, coordinator of the unofficial members of the HKSAR Executive Council; Dr. Herman HU, Chairman of Friday Culture Limited; Dr. Kennedy WONG, Deputy Secretary General of the Hong Kong Coalition; Patrick Tsang, CEO of Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited.
Dr. Herman Hu mentioned in his welcome speech that "today, many voices are trying to tell a broader, deeper and fairer story of what is happening in our city and country. When we put our heads together, we are good at solving problems ".
The forum featured two panel discussions, the first of which was on "Achieving Fairness in a Polarized World." Patrick TSANG moderated the panel with a number of distinguished guests including Regina IP; Amr Wafik Mohamed ELHENAWY, Consul General of the Egyptian Consulate General in Hong Kong, China; Chandran NAIR, founder of the Global Institute for Tomorrow and Nick CHAN, director of the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Center for Arbitration.
The second panel focused on "Security, from the individual to the global perspective." The debate was moderated by Professor Witman HUNG, member of the Global Council, World Summit Awards and the opinions were shared by CHEUNG Kwok Kwan, Undersecretary of Justice; YANG Meng Yang, Executive Director of CICC Capital Management Department, China International Capital Corporation Hong Kong Asset Management Limited; Dr. William YU, CEO of the World Environment Organization; and Laurie PEARCEY, former President of the China-Australia Business Council.
