Geographic diversification and energy sources, as well as the adoption of storage, are emerging as key factors for the success of agents in the renewable energy sector.

MADRID, March 7, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- RatedPower, now part of Enverus, has published its annual findings derived from nearly a hundred diverse industry experts from around the world, and more than 101,000 simulations of its software. According to the results, the focus for 2023 will be on accelerating the adoption of renewable energy generation, reducing the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE), fuel diversification and investment in energy storage.

After years of declining costs, in 2022 the renewable energy industry was faced with new challenges, as pandemic-related supply chain disruptions increased equipment prices and reduced availability. But global installations of new capacity continued to rise, as the pandemic, coupled with the energy crisis, prompted governments and businesses to increase their investments in clean energy and reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels.

"In the coming year, we expect the green transition to give a massive boost to investments in solar photovoltaic (PV) power, both in residential, commercial and industrial installations and at utility scale. The sector is increasingly looking for ways to incorporate battery storage and clean, green hydrogen to renewable facilities to maximize supply," said Andrea Barber, Vice President of Energy and Renewables at Enverus and co-founder of RatedPower, following the report's release.

To better understand the state of the sector and the trends for this year and beyond, RatedPower called on hundreds of experts from energy companies of all sizes around the world and conducted a comprehensive survey that includes their views on the challenges and prospects. Of future. Additionally, the report analyzes data from RatedPower's solar plant simulation software to highlight key trends and top manufacturers around the world in 2022.

2022 was a record year of high energy costs across Europe, which has highlighted the benefits of low-carbon power generation, increasing calls to speed up the installation of wind and solar systems. The survey reveals that more than 100 renewable energy experts are confident that digitization, storage and diversification will be key to the development of the renewable energy sector in the future.
