RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, April 8, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, in the closing episode of the show Otr Elkalam, the world's largest religious pageant, whose episodes were broadcast from Riyadh, the Saudi capital, Saudi contestant Mohammed Al -Sharif took first place in the adhan (Islamic call for public prayer) track with a prize of $533,000, while Iranian Younis Shahmradi took first place in the Quran recitation track with a prize of $800,000. The contest, which has concluded today, has obtained 6 certificates from the Guinness Book of Records. Two records have been broken: the number of participating countries, both in the Qur'an and the Adhan modality, and the number of participants in the Qur'an. He also achieved another record for the largest number of entrants in the adhan contest, and two other records for the highest prize pool for a Quran recitation contest and the highest prize pool for a call to prayer contest. His Excellency Counselor Alalshikh paid tribute to the prize winners of the adhan and recitation contests. Iranian contestant Younis Shahmradi took first place in the recitation category, while Saudi Abdulaziz Al-Faqih took second place and a prize of $533,000. Moroccan contestant Zakaria Al-Zirk took third place and a prize of $266,000, and his compatriot Abdullah Al-Daghri won fourth place and a prize of $187,000.

Regarding the theme of the adhan, the first place went to the Saudi contestant Mohammed Al-Sharif, the second to the Indonesian Diaa Al-Din bin Nazar Al-Din, with a prize of 266,000 dollars, the third to Raheef Al-Hajj, with a prize of 133,000 dollars, and the fourth for the British Ibrahim Asad, with a prize of 80,000 dollars.

The Quran and adhan contest, which this year is being held in strategic partnership with the World Muslim League, is one of the international initiatives of the Saudi General Authority for Entertainment.
