AWC and Nobu will transform two emblematic heritage buildings in New York and Bangkok into the Plaza Athénée hotel, located on the historic Upper East Side, close to Central Park, museums, consulates and luxury shops, and in an emblematic building located in the best location along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The Plaza Athenee and Nobu brands will combine the ultra-luxury experience of Plaza Athenee and Nobu's world-renowned modern luxury lifestyle brand. In Bangkok, the Plaza Athenee Nobu Hotel and Spa Bangkok will offer ultra-luxury hospitality and a unique world-class dining experience, with AWC and Nobu developing the East meets West concept, integrated into the River Journey concept. Registered as a historic site, the EAC building was founded in 1884 by Captain Hans Niels Andersen, a Danish seaman and businessman who founded the East Asiatic Company.
