ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Dec. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, created by prominent Kazakh businessman and philanthropist Bulat Utemuratov, has provided more than $80 million for various social infrastructure projects in highly populated regions of Kazakhstan o in areas devastated by natural disasters.

The Foundation allocated more than 60 million dollars to build a school, a community center and a passenger terminal to help improve urban living conditions in underdeveloped areas and offer more services to residents.

Each school will accommodate 900 students.

Almaz Sharman, Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, said: "The Foundation and Verny Capital, both inspired by Utemuratov, aim to contribute to the development of Kazakhstan's social infrastructure with projects ranging from schools to housing to airports. Education and health are among the causes of great importance to Bulat personally, and for this reason we are paying special attention to the construction of new schools and the renovation and equipment of the stroke center.Next year we will continue to carry out these projects, in addition to considering new initiatives."

In 2019, it began a project that allocated some $8.8 million to provide homes for families with several children, families with disabled children, and those whose homes were destroyed by natural disasters. A total of 390 families from 4 cities received accommodation. The reconstruction of the Almaty Botanical Garden was completed in 2020. $15 million was spent on the restoration of the garden, in which modern materials and sustainable technologies were used and advanced irrigation, lighting and video surveillance systems were introduced.
