LONDON, Feb. 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- At the highly anticipated Flor de Caña Sustainable Cocktail Challenge Global Final, Carlos Ferron from Bar La Cuadra Market in Panama (representing Latin America) was crowned the Global Champion after competing alongside the regional champions of Europe, North America and Asia Pacific to create the best sustainable cocktails.

The final was held on Saturday, February 4 in the spectacular and unique natural setting offered by the tropical volcanic islets of Granada in Nicaragua.

The cocktails were evaluated by the judges taking into account elements such as: the history and inspiration behind the cocktail, the use of sustainable ingredients, the technique and the level of creativity, as well as the taste and appearance.

Ferron, who qualified to compete in the global final after winning the Latin America Regional Final, took first place after impressing the judges with his passion and skills in creating his sustainable cocktails called "Talamanca" and "5 Generaciones", both made with Ron Flor de Caña 12 Years and natural and homemade ingredients.

In addition to receiving the title of "Most Sustainable Flor de Caña Bartender in the World", Ferron received the Global Champion trophy made with sustainable materials, a personalized bottle of Flor de Caña 25 Year Old Rum and a US$10,000 prize. Ferron will also receive a free sustainability course and assessment from Food Made Good, a consultant to the competition.
