NINGDE, China, Aug. 16, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- On August 16, CATL launched Shenxing, the world's first 4C super fast charging LFP battery, capable of 400 km range with a 10-minute charge, as well as a range of more than 700 km on a single full charge. Redefines the LFP battery to ease charging anxiety
Accelerating the extraction of lithium ions. Shenxing takes advantage of super electron lattice cathode technology and fully nanocrystalized LFP cathode material to create a super electron lattice, which facilitates lithium-ion extraction and fast response to charging signals.
Improving the rate of lithium ion intercalation. For graphite innovation, CATL's latest second-generation fast ion ring technology is used to modify the surface properties of graphite, thereby increasing intercalation channels and shortening the intercalation distance for lithium ions, creating a fast lane for today's driving. In addition, a multi-gradient layered electrode design has been developed to strike the perfect balance between fast charging and long range.
Decreasing the resistance of the lithium ion movement. CATL has developed a new formula of superconducting electrolyte, which effectively reduces the viscosity of the electrolyte, resulting in improved conductivity. In addition, CATL has improved the ultra-thin SEI film to reduce the resistance of the lithium-ion movement.
Improving the transmission rate of lithium ion: In terms of the separator, CATL reduced the transmission resistance of lithium ion with high porosity and shortened the average transmission distance.

Charging normally at low temperatures. At room temperature, Shenxing can charge up to 80% SOC in 10 minutes. Meanwhile, CATL leverages cell temperature control technology in system platforms to ensure cells quickly warm up to the optimal operating temperature range, enabling a 0-80% charge in just 30 minutes. at temperatures as low as -10°C and 0-100km/h acceleration performance in low temperatures.
Security First. Enhanced electrolyte and high-safety coated separator are used to provide double protection for Shenxing battery. By regulating the global temperature field inside the cells using intelligent algorithms, CATL has built a real-time fail-safe system that can solve problems caused by rapid refueling, enabling a high level of safety for the Shenxing Battery.
Achieve mass production by the end of 2023, ushering in the era of super fast charging
