Madrid, April 20, 2023.- The 36th edition of Salón Gourmets hosted the eighth edition of the long-awaited Estrella Galicia Beer Tiring Championship, a competition that has become a national benchmark for the dissemination of beer culture and the promotion of service perfect among restaurateurs.

The grand final brought together 11 high-level contestants from all over Spain. The participants had to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and nerves of steel before a jury made up of members of the Hijos de Rivera Beer Culture department and beer professionals, hoteliers and gastronomes selected under the criteria of professionalism and experience established internally by Estrella Galicia. In each of the interventions – the perfect print run consists of six steps: preparation, discard, inclination, precision, crowning and presentation – the technique, quality and speed marked by tight service times were assessed.

Finally, David Quirós, from Espacio Quirós (Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid), prevailed and won the title of Best Beer Shooter in Spain 2023 and a cash prize of €1,000. In second position was Iván Cancela Jacobo, from Bodeguilla de Santa Marta (Santiago de Compostela). The runners-up went to Javier Quirós García, also from Espacio Quirós (Torrejón de Ardoz), and Judith Insua Martínez, from Destapa Santa Clara (A Coruña).

Estrella Galicia, official beer of Salón Gourmets, returned to the fair for another year with various activities that focus on two key elements: the dissemination of culture around beer and its commitment to generating a positive impact on society.
