Two years after its acquisition by the multinational Spacewell, the Catalan company Dexma has established itself as the group's global energy hub, expanding its client portfolio by 150% and practically doubling the number of employees in the last two years

Dexma, a company that provides energy management solutions for buildings, retail and industry, expects to close the year with a turnover of 4.3 million euros, a figure that represents an increase of 20% compared to the previous year. The Catalan company, which since 2020 has been part of the technology firm Spacewell -integrated into the multinational Nemetschek-, has managed to become, from Barcelona, ​​the group's energy hub.Dexma offers intelligent tools based on artificial intelligence and data, which allow companies to analyze and optimize their energy consumption. In a global context marked by the increase in energy prices, during 2022 the company has experienced a 24% increase in the sale of its software licenses, and has continued to expand its customer base, both national and international. Currently, Dexma offers its solutions to more than 10,000 companies in 35 different countries, in sectors such as real estate, banking or retail. In this sense, and as a result of the company's international vocation, close to 60% of the business volume already comes from international clients, with the United Kingdom, France, Italy and the Benelux region as the main markets abroad. From Barcelona to Dexma world was founded in Barcelona in 2007 by a group of computer engineers, made up of Joan Pinyol, Guillem Corominas and Xavier Orduña. In 2020, the company began a new stage when it was acquired by Spacewell, a company owned by the Nemetschek Group, a leading global software company for the design, construction and operation of buildings, and listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. As part of the acquisition process, in recent years Dexma has been integrated into Spacewell's product portfolio, managing to cover a larger market segment, and further reinforcing its international projection. From a global perspective, and together with the development of its energy management software, Dexma also works to disseminate the social, economic and environmental benefits of a more efficient use of energy, through tools such as good practice guides or online training. A reflection of the company's growth is the increase in the number of customers, which in 2020 was 4,000 and now, in 2022, amounts to 10,000. This expansion has also been correlated with the increase in the number of employees, which has gone from 45 workers in 2020 to around 70 currently, of which 40% are women. Likewise, and as part of the strategic plan for next year, Dexma plans to continue expanding its workforce with new professional profiles, especially in the field of R&D.
