Madrid, December 1, 2022. Don Simón, the first Spanish beverage brand in our country, is once again a pioneer by introducing the first aluminum-free aseptic carton pack to the market with its line of vegetable beverages. The Pure Pak® eSense packaging, developed in collaboration with the manufacturer Elopak, stands out for containing a higher percentage of matter of vegetable origin and being more easily recyclable, which allows reducing carbon emissions.

Classic soy, light soy, chocolate soy, almond, rice and oat drinks become the first products to be marketed with this development. Made with raw natural cardboard, this packaging removes the aluminum layer and incorporates innovative technology that preserves the integrity, safety and useful life of the product and, at the same time, guarantees the commitment of the family business to sustainable development. .

«García-Carrión has a firm commitment to sustainability and we have always been pioneers in the search for and use of new alternatives for the packaging of our products. In this sense, this innovation represents a great advance, because all its characteristics are aligned with our environmental objectives”, assures the García-Carrión family.

Among other benefits, this container is renewable and its new structure allows its fibers and layers to be separated in a single step, facilitating its recycling. Ultimately, it results in up to 50% less carbon footprint than a standard Pure-Pak® aseptic carton. In addition, it is designed with easy fold lines to help consumers empty all the contents inside (in line with the objective of reducing food waste) and fold the container for recycling more conveniently.

Sustainability 360 °, a García-Carrión strategy in favor of sustainable development

This launch represents another step forward by the García-Carrión company within its 360° Sustainability strategy, with an environmental, economic and social scope and which materializes the company's commitment to the environment.

In the field of packaging, García-Carrión is advancing, always hand in hand with this strategy, towards increasingly efficient production models, as well as in the search for and use of new sustainable alternatives. That is why he works with the horizon that his packaging has a low carbon footprint, is 100% recyclable and incorporates the use of plant-based materials.

A virtual experience to learn more about the consumer

Along with this latest launch, García-Carrión and Elopak, together with AppetiteCreative, have also collaborated to develop a 360 digital experience, aimed at educating consumers interactively through a web application that is activated by scanning a QR code. printed on the packaging.

Connected packaging turns a passive product into an interactive and experimental contact point. For this reason, through this website and these connected packages, García-Carrión will establish a channel of communication with consumers and, in addition, will be able to learn more about them and their needs.
