-Future Minerals Forum uses think tanks to promote innovation and develop thought leadership

Together with the Development Partner Institute, Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy, Clareo, and the Payne Institute, FMF will provide powerful insights into where mining of the future should go.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Dec. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Future Minerals Forum (FMF), the international conference launched by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, announces three new partnerships with leading think tanks and institutions of research, as it prepares to host its second edition in Riyadh, from January 10 to 12, 2023.

FMF works closely with:

· Development Partner Institute, a global coalition of leaders committed to maximizing the contribution of mining to economic and social development

· Clareo, a growth strategy company that helps its clients face challenges in key areas such as innovation, value growth, ESG and the energy transition

· Center for Energy Studies at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy, a center that provides expertise on the role of economics, politics, and regulation in the operation and evolution of energy markets

· Payne Institute, Colorado School of Mines, a think tank that provides expert advice on public policy on natural resources, energy and the environment

By collaborating with industry experts and opinion makers, the FMF aims to shape the global conversations on minerals and metals by providing ideas that support the development of the sector, based on strict environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles.

Launched in 2022 by the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the FMF is designed to advance and unlock mining opportunities from Africa to West and Central Asia. By 2023, more than 200 speakers from around the world are expected to share their views, with thousands of participants representing more than 100 countries.

Attendees will include industry leaders and stakeholders, who will gather in Riyadh to discuss the most pressing issues facing the minerals and metals sectors today.

Delegates will attend panel discussions with lively discussions on key issues such as how the industry can ensure a reliable and secure supply of essential metals and minerals for the clean energy transition.

The World Bank estimates that the demand for several critical metals will multiply by up to five times between now and 2050. For this reason, the FMF will discuss, among many other topics, how mineral and metal companies can ensure resilient supply chains by supporting social development and economic benefit of local communities while minimizing the industry's impact on the environment.
