HUBLOT, THE FIRST NAME IN PRECISION SOCCER TIMEKEEPING, RETURNS AS OFFICIAL TIMEKEEPER OF THE TOURNAMENT FOR THE THIRD TIME

NYON, Switzerland, July 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- The FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™ is here. Hublot will be present as Official Timekeeper for each of the tournament's 64 matches, from the first group stage match at Auckland's Eden Park between New Zealand and Norway on July 20, through to the final in Sydney on August 20. Each match will be played using Hublot time, captured by the iconic Big Bang-shaped boards of the fourth official, the LED boards and the Hublot Big Bang e Gen 3, the watch brand's luxury smartwatch dedicated to the best sport in the world, on the wrists of all the official referees of the competition. Hublot loves football!

Women's football is going from strength to strength and Hublot - always first, different, unique - is proud to support its development and to take its history of dedication, excellence and fair play to the world, inspiring a new generation of fans and players. This will be the third time that the Swiss fine watchmaker has timed the FIFA Women's World Cup™, having been Official Timekeeper at the 2015 and 2019 tournaments in Canada and France respectively. Since then, Hublot has deepened its commitment to the growth of women's football by serving as Official Timekeeper of the UEFA European Women's Championship™ and UEFA Women's Champions League™.

In this year's tournament, there will be 107 referees (33 referees, 55 assistant referees and 19 video referees), 94 of whom are women. Each will be equipped with Hublot's Big Bang e, a powerful luxury smartwatch that fuses the design of the brand's iconic Big Bang watch with cutting-edge materials and the latest connected technology. The edition designed exclusively for referees has a series of special functions created to help them during the course of a match, such as the control of yellow cards and added time at the end of the match. Additionally, all Big Bang e Gen 3 owners will be able to download the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™ app via the Google Play store, bringing all the match action to their wrist. The Fan Edition keeps track of every game with score updates sent directly to your wrist in real time.

Several Friends of the Hublot Brand will participate in the tournament, including the Norwegian Ada Hegerberg, the first winner of the women's Ballon d'Or in 2018; the Spanish Alexia Putellas, double winner of the Ballon d'Or; and Alex Morgan, who will take the field in Australia and New Zealand as a member of the United States team, winner of the two previous editions of the FIFA Women's World Cup™.

One of the referees to wear the Hublot Big Bang e connected watch will be French referee and Friend of the Hublot Brand Stéphanie Frappart, who has set numerous firsts during her illustrious career. Last year, she became the first woman to referee a men's World Cup match at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

Beyond this summer's tournament, Hublot is now recognized as the first name in elite football timekeeping. The Swiss fine watchmaking manufacturer first entered the sport in 2006 as a sponsor of the Swiss national team and has grown in involvement ever since. Today, Hublot is also the Official Timekeeper of major FIFA and UEFA men's events, such as the FIFA World Cup™ and the UEFA European Championship™. Hublot also times the men's UEFA Champions League™ and the English Premier League™, the most followed soccer league in the world.

Many of the world's most celebrated footballers and soccer personalities are Hublot ambassadors, including late Pelé, Kylian Mbappé and Jose Mourinho.
