Matrix Renewables, the global renewable energy platform backed by TPG Rise, and Rolwind Renovables, the Spanish company expert in the development of renewable energy infrastructure, have announced the expansion of their partnership through the creation of HYREN, a new platform dedicated to to the development and creation of the green hydrogen economy in Spain
The two companies have signed an agreement to form a platform dedicated to the implementation, production, maintenance and marketing of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Spain, which will cover the entire value chain of this renewable energy source. Combining their experience and leadership in the renewable energy sector in Spain, Matrix and Rolwind launch HYREN to become a benchmark in Europe in the design, construction and operation of green hydrogen infrastructures. HYREN brings together the projects initiated by both companies and begins its journey with a portfolio of national projects, which will add a generation capacity of more than 1 GW in Andalusia, Aragon and Castilla La Mancha, with the aim of reaching up to 4 GW. In recognition of the launch of HYREN, the Board of Matrix Renewables has stated that they are "very proud that Matrix Renewables continues its rapid growth in the clean energy sector by expanding into green hydrogen."
