SINGAPORE, Nov. 22, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Interplex, a world leader in the design and manufacture of mechanical and interconnect products, is successfully addressing the growing market demand for high-density interconnects in challenging application scenarios. The company has just launched its Multi-Row Board-to-Board (BTB) connector product.

Thanks to the patented snap-on biscuit design, this ingenious interconnection concept will revolutionize the industry, allowing multiple connector units to be stacked together. This means that the interconnects can be sized just right and avoid the need to custom build them. The unique and cost-effective approach that Interplex has taken will allow for different pin count requirements to be addressed through the same basic interconnect platform, without any additional engineering expense or effort.

The new Multi-Row BTB connectors feature 0.4mm press-fit miniPLX™ pins, eliminating the need for soldering. These pins are made from a copper alloy and have very low levels of contact resistance (<1mΩ). Each plug has a current carrying capacity of 3A. The optional coating of these pins with the company's patented IndiCoat™ plating technology mitigates the buildup of tin chips to prevent the risk of short circuits and extend life.

Interplex's multi-row BTB connectors are available in board stacking heights from 7mm to 30mm. They can have between 1 and 6 rows, with up to 30 contact terminals incorporated in each row. Conforming to the performance requirements of the automotive industry, these robust products can withstand high levels of humidity (8 hour cycles up to 10% RH), shock (35g for 5 to 10ms on 10 axes) and vibration (8 hours per axis). It is compatible with a working temperature range from -40°C to 150°C.
