The new digital worlds have their own economy, Juan Antonio Corbacho (@mrcorbacho) explains it

A metaverse is a term used to describe an online virtual universe, a kind of virtual world in which people can interact with each other or with companies in real time. The term was popularized in Neal Stephenson's science fiction novel "Snow Crash" and has become an increasingly common concept in technology and popular culture. Juan Antonio Corbacho (@mrcorbacho) is manager of the Jcapital fund and advisor in many projects related to metaverses, as well as a speaker at national events such as the MetaWorldCongress in Madrid and explains all this new reality. The metaverse "consists of interconnected virtual worlds in which that users can engage in activities such as gaming, shopping, education, content creation, socializing, and much more. These virtual worlds are created using technologies like virtual reality, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence, and are becoming more realistic every day." .Some of the best known examples of metaverses are Second Life, Minecraft and Fortnite. In addition, technological giants such as Facebook, Google, Amazon and Microsoft have expressed interest and are developing their own metaverses. Within the metaverses there is a new economy, with the increasing development of Web3 and the integration of the blockchain in a few months it will be possible to see large virtual worlds where you can do "social life" as in the real world. In the new metaverses that have just been created and are in the process of being created, it will be possible to attend digital concerts, perform paid work, attend conventions and even buy both digital and physical items or services that will reach the users' own homes. "It seems like something out of science fiction but it is already a reality and there are more and more companies and institutions interested in this technology. Without going any further, soon you will be able to take a walk through the Buen Retiro park or the Gran Vía in Madrid, entering establishments without leaving the computer, interact with real connected people, make purchases, etc. The experience is becoming more and more real, today there are sensitive devices available to feel sensations on our own skin that to date were unthinkable without go out into the street". This new economy "will have a great global impact since it opens up an immense range of possibilities for companies. For example, it will be possible to 'travel' and walk through the streets of another country without having to travel, see a musical of Broadway without the added cost of traveling to New York, ordering food from the same metaverse and getting it home in minutes or buying clothes and seeing how we feel in real time from the metav itself erso before we get home." "Soon it will be an accepted reality as it is today to watch a movie at home through a digital platform without having to go out and rent it in a video store."
