RELEASE: Loftware and Epson Announce Partnership to Revolutionize Labeling Workflows

Joint solution improves accuracy, increases productivity and reduces costs for pre-printed labels

PORTSMOUTH, N.H., April 12, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Loftware, the world's largest provider of cloud-based enterprise labeling and artwork management, and Seiko Epson Corporation (TSE: 6724, "Epson"), a world leader in color label printers, today announced a strategic alliance to revolutionize customer labeling workflows.

Epson and Loftware will collaborate to develop cloud-based, one-step color printing solutions to improve printing efficiency and ease of use. Businesses will lower the barriers to on-demand color label printing through seamless integration with SAP and other leading business systems.

The partnership will integrate the Epson ColorWorks series of color label printers with Loftware's NiceLabel Cloud platforms. Businesses will be able to print from NiceLabel Cloud directly to cloud-connected Epson ColorWorks printers. This will improve productivity, reduce customers' reliance on IT, minimize printing errors, and decrease the cost and inventory of preprinted labels.

The partnership between Epson and Loftware follows a sharp increase in demand for high-productivity color labeling solutions as companies invested in supply chain improvements both during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Demand has grown especially among companies that use SAP EH systems

The Epson-Loftware collaboration responds to the growing demand from companies to use color on products, cartons and pallet labels for identification. In addition, companies in the chemical (GHS), medical device and pharmaceutical segments are faced with an urgent need to comply with international labeling regulations that require colour. Thanks to the integration of Epson color label printers with Loftware's NiceLabel Cloud platforms, businesses that use 2-pass printing to print color labels can now move to 1-pass on-demand color label printing, with a lower cost and a reduction of errors.

"We've partnered with Epson to help businesses of all sizes move their labeling to the cloud," said Paul Vogt, vice president of channel strategies and alliances at Loftware. "Businesses are embracing best-in-class partner labeling solutions and one-step color label printing to drive radical improvements in their supply chain print operations. We're delighted to be collaborating with Epson to deliver such a transformation."

The collaboration will bring several important benefits to customers. Businesses will gain the ability to print labels efficiently and quickly without missing production and shipping deadlines. They will reduce waste by eliminating leftover and unused label stock when you change a label format. Additionally, organizations will no longer have to manage customer or urgent supply label stock inventory. Ultimately, customers will no longer have to purchase pre-printed, short-run labels at a higher cost, but will be able to use low-cost standard blank labels instead.

"Preparing to adapt to cloud trends is critical," said Junkichi Yoshida, CEO and COO of Epson's Printing Solutions Division. "Our goal is to fuel the growth of on-demand color printing in various types of businesses and applications by further improving the quality of our label printing technology and optimizing both hardware and solutions. This collaboration with Loftware is essential to our future business development, as by offering cloud printing, our Colorworks printers can connect to the systems of enterprise customers across multiple industries."
