(LONGi), officially launched its new generation of hydrogen production equipment in Beijing made from ALK Hi1 alkaline electrolyzed water, which continuously explores minimal energy consumption and redefines the height of energy efficiency.

Based on the rich experience in PV field, LONGi found that, similar to the LCOE of PV, the main path is to reduce the electricity consumption of hydrogen production units, that is, for the same electricity consumption to produce more hydrogen. The price of electricity and the energy consumption per unit of hydrogen production are the two variables that contribute to the higher sensitivity of the LCOH. ALK Hi1's full load continuous current consumption can be as low as 4.3kwh/Nm³. In the case of the ALK Hi1 Plus it is even lower, up to 4.1kwh/Nm³, to adapt to hydrogen production scenarios that require longer hours of use. It even reaches 4.0 kWh/Nm³ when the current density is 2500 A/㎡.

The research also shows that the full-load DC power consumption of the global electrolyzed water hydrogen production industry, including alkaline water (ALK) hydrogen production technology and water electrolysis power by proton exchange membrane (PEM), is basically in the range of 4.5-4.6kwh/Nm³.
