AlUla, Saudi Arabia, April 17, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its "Travel Through Time" master plan, the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) will further expand accommodation offerings in AlUla with Dar Tantora by The House Hotel, an immersive and authentic hospitality experience in the old town of AlUla. Dar Tantora will also house a swimming pool and spa, as well as a restaurant and cafeteria.

RCU is building this landmark 30-room building by restoring several historic adobe buildings using contemporary engineering methods and traditional techniques. The project will show the old town as a vibrant cultural center. The rooms will be adorned with traditional decoration, furniture and artistic accents, incorporating narrative elements that capture the intangible heritage of the area. Local artisans received specialized training to participate in the restoration work.

The project reflects RCU's extensive efforts to revive AlUla's old town with tourism as a driver for development and job creation. RCU is driven by an ongoing commitment to innovation and sustainability in its comprehensive regeneration efforts, including the Sustainability Charter that governs the economic, social and environmental impacts of each project. For fulfilling this vision, the old town of AlUla was recognized by the United Nations World Tourism Organization as "Best Tourist Village" in 2022.
