CHON BURI, Thailand, Dec. 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- To commemorate the spirit of International Volunteer Day, we celebrate solidarity through volunteerism. For the future of our planet, we must act together, and we must act now. The Swarovski Foundation joins Swarovski Group employees and partner Teach for Thailand to share their experience as part of a network of leaders supporting equitable education opportunities.

These volunteer initiatives include an English class and a careers workshop for more than 100 students between the ages of 12 and 15 from the Nong Yai Siri Worawat Witthaya School in Chon Buri, Thailand. Swarovski Group volunteers share their knowledge through both practical and theoretical approaches. Access to quality education should be available to everyone, regardless of socioeconomic background, so these initiatives allow students to meet people from different backgrounds and inspire students to dream big about future goals and opportunities. professionals.

In addition, Swarovski Group employees believe it is important to contribute positively to people and the planet, as Stefano Giacomelli, Managing Director of Swarovski Business Services Manufacturing Thailand, shared: "Promoting human empowerment through education, side by side with inspiring colleagues at the Swarovski Foundation, makes me proud to be a part of the Swarovski company. The visible joy of the students in the Teach for Thailand English class and career workshop filled my heart with hope, and I am even more confident in the long-term impact of the Teach for Thailand program in igniting children's dreams for a better future."

Teach for Thailand fellow Khun King led the English class on career opportunities as volunteers engaged with students to help them develop their English communication skills by practicing pronunciation of words and for students to consider their future career aspirations. "I want to be a teacher, an English teacher," replied one of the students.

Following the English class, the careers workshop, led by a Swarovski Group employee, allowed students to interview employees from different fields of work to learn about their day-to-day responsibilities. The students asked how the employees had accessed their career and what they had to study, as well as what exams they had to take. Students were able to learn different perspectives and thus broaden their knowledge of new career paths.
