Telenet and Sandvine combine contextualized sociodemographic data with application analytics and QoE metrics to improve the quality of customer experience and reduce travel, hardware waste and operational costs

WATERLOO, ON, April 20, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Telenet, one of the pioneers of fixed mobile convergence and cloud-native 5G services, and Sandvine, the App QoE company, have embarked on a quality journey of 18-month customer experience to quickly detect, predict, and address issues impacting the customer experience.

By combining Sandvine's QoE and application analytics metrics with Telenet's rich sociodemographic data, the Belgian operator has been able to generate objective quality of service scores for each end device, as well as subjective connectivity experience scores for each customer.

Stijn Eulaerts, Vice President of Residential and Soho Product Management at Telenet, explained: "Better understanding service quality across different devices at different times means we can determine which KPIs are important for decisions about repair and maintenance, as well as pointing customers who might be dissatisfied so we can proactively address any issues and adjust campaigns to better engage and satisfy them."

Lyndon Cantor, CEO of Sandvine, noted, "Using high-quality data from Sandvine, our engineering team worked with Telenet's operations team to create a holistic quality of experience profile for each Telenet customer and to develop a robust analytics dashboard through which highly contextualized customer QoE insights could be brought to life."

Some of the results of the first year of the QoE project, even before it was fully implemented, were impressive, including:

These benefits will pave the way for the future, which will include intent-based congestion management and automation for automated, self-tuning solutions that further improve performance and customer experience.
