Brazadas receives the award at the 40th edition of the Milano International FICTS Fest, the World Championship of Television, Film, Communication and Sports Culture. The festival rewards productions that play a significant role in promoting the sports image and its values.

The "Daniele Redaelli Sport and Solidarity Award" is the second award received by Brazadas, the film produced by UIC Barcelona, ​​after winning in the Sports and Society category at the BCN Sports Film Festival. The documentary covers the initiative of Daniel Rossinés who swam around the island of Menorca with the aim of raising funds for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Barcelona, ​​November 13, 2023.- The documentary Brazadas, produced by the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona), has received the "Daniele Redaelli Sport and Solidarity Award" at the Milano International FICTS Fest. The awards ceremony took place on Saturday afternoon in Milan, where 30 international awards were presented. The festival is the global final of 20 festivals, held on 5 continents, of the World Championship of Television, Film, Communication and Sports Culture.

Strokes capture the Upside Down Menorca, Daniel Rossinés' second sporting challenge in which he swims around the Island of Menorca, exceeding 130 km and 65,000 strokes with the aim of raising funds for research into Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Daniel Rossinés, founder of Upsidedown and professional swimmer who stars in the documentary, Luisa Cassina, marketing director of the International University of Catalonia (UIC Barcelona) and Albert Gordillo, director of the documentary and head of audiovisual content at the University, collected the award in name of UIC Barcelona.

Rossinés thanks UIC Barcelona for promoting and raising awareness in society about ALS. "The documentary is based on friendship and commitment that are intertwined with society, reminding us that together we are stronger," concludes Rossinés.

For her part, Luisa Cassina, representing UIC Barcelona, ​​thanks the festival for the award and remembers that "UIC Barcelona, ​​with driving values ​​forward as its motto, honors the mission that inspires us to positively impact our environment by supporting the project Strokes."

The film in favor of ALS research already won the Esport i Societat award at the BCN Sports Film Festival last February, held at the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum, at a meeting point between the world of cinema , sports, politics and society.
