The World's 50 Best Hotels, the first global launch of the 50 Best brand since 2009, announces special awards that will complement the upcoming ranking
LONDON, July 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Along with the inaugural list of The World's 50 Best Hotels, which will be announced at a ceremony at the Guildhall, London, on September 19, 50 Best will reveal the winners of a series of award categories designed to highlight outstanding properties and individuals across the travel industry.
The awards will reflect the best travel experiences compiled from 580 anonymous voters – a mix of experienced hoteliers, journalists and travelers – led by a group of academy presidents from nine world regions.

Continental Awards: The best ranked hotel on each continent (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America and Oceania) will automatically be considered The Best Hotel on that continent.
Nikka Best New Hotel: The highest-ranked hotel to have opened during the two-year voting window: May 2021 – May 2023. Nikka Whiskey is the official partner of this award.
Flor de Caña Eco Hotel: The hotel's outstanding efforts towards sustainability are recognized. The award is independently audited by the Sustainable Restaurant Association.
The Lost Explorer Best Beach Hotel: Awarded to the hotel located 20 meters from a beach that ranks highest on the list.
Carlo Alberto Vermouth Best Boutique Hotel: Awarded to the hotel that ranks highest on the list that meets all the criteria for a boutique property, with less than 50 rooms and not part of a large group.
SevenRooms Icon Award: Celebrates an individual who has made an extraordinary contribution to the hospitality industry during the course of their career.
Art of Hospitality Award: The 580 voters must name a property where they received the best hotel experience within the voting period. The winner will be announced on August 22.
Lavazza One To Watch Award: Given to a hotel that is currently just outside the top 50 list, but that 50 Best believes has the potential to break into the ranking. The winner will be announced on September 5.
