These modules, which combine several state-of-the-art technologies and offer a power guarantee of up to 30 years, have already begun to be mass-produced.
When selecting rooftop solar modules, installers and their customers look for three things: Maximum power output in a limited space; trouble-free installation and operation for decades; and good looking on the roof. This is precisely where Trina Solar's new Vertex S series comes into play.
For all tastes: excellent bifacial and monofacial options of less than 2 m2
Individual roofs and preferences may differ slightly between different application scenarios. Therefore, Vertex S is available in two specifications. The single face NEG9R.28 comes with a white rear potting for a maximum power output of up to 445 Wp and an efficiency reaching 22.3%. In contrast, the transparent NEG9RC.27 is the preferred choice for high-end aesthetic applications, for example on residential rooftops, where the assembly would virtually disappear optically. This bifacial module has a front power of 435 Wp, with an efficiency of 21.8%. Both types have a surface area of just under 2 square meters (1'762*1'134*30 mm) and a black aluminum frame.
A powerful heart: n-type cells
Like all Trina Solar modules, Vertex S is based on the 210mm Vertex technology platform. However, thanks to the switch to n-type i-TOPCon cells, the module can generate approximately 10% more power over 30 years compared to its p-type counterparts. In addition, n-type cells have 50% less initial degradation and 11% less annual power attenuation. The combination of both factors -higher power and lower degradation- results in a substantial increase in energy efficiency throughout the useful life of the module and in greater reliability.

Reliable and sustainable: Double glass structure
Vertex S is the first module for roofs on the market that incorporates a robust double glass structure, replacing the plastic back sheet with a second layer of glass. As such, the double glass designs are highly reliable and provide perfect protection for decades, making the structure of this module extremely resistant to salt spray, acids and alkalis. Glass is a perfect and symmetrical sealant, thus ensuring zero moisture penetration and minimizing cell stress. In addition, the double glass Vertex modules offer maximum fire safety. But not only that: the omission of the back sheet also reduces the use of plastics, which further improves the environmental footprint of the module and its recycling when it reaches the end of its useful life.
Handling and compatibility: Designed with the installer in mind
Thanks to advances in glass processing, Trina Solar has been able to use two layers of ultra-thin glass that are only 1.6mm thick, resulting in a low weight of 21.1kg, comparable to backsheet modules. . This means installers can handle the new Vertex S on the roof just as they always have with conventional PV modules.
When it comes to installation, Vertex S is highly compatible with other BOS components. Offers a variety of mounting methods, including short and long side clamp, cross beam, shared rail, and slip mount. Thanks to its short circuit current of 10.7 A, it is also compatible with more than 99% of the main inverters on the market, as verified by a comprehensive compatibility analysis.
