The citizens of Menorca, in addition to tourists who visit the island, will have a mobile application to pay, with a credit card, for trips made with the island's public transport service. The agreement, promoted by the Department of Mobility of the Consell Insular de Menorca, between the French company Airweb and the three concessionary companies of the service, will allow coverage of all transport lines on the island under a single application. The application is expected to be available from January, with a view to making it fully operational during the next summer season of 2023. Initially, the solution will allow you to pay for all single tickets with different prices depending on the origin and destination of the journey with credit card, in this way this method of payment will be facilitated, which until now was not possible. However, the Menorca Island Council is already assessing the future incorporation of other transport tickets, such as multi-trip vouchers and passes with different frequency. It will be available in Spanish, Catalan and English, and adapted to the Spanish payment system, in addition to having the technology developed by airweb, a leading company in the digitization of transport tickets.
