STATEMENT: Automobili Pininfarina designer named 'One to Watch' in art and culture according to Bloomberg (2)

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 13, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Dave Amantea, design director at Automobili Pininfarina, has been named by Bloomberg Businessweek editors as one of Bloomberg's 50 "Ones to Watch" for 2023.

Bloomberg Businessweek's "Ones to Watch" list shines a light on the innovators and leaders who are making a significant impact in entertainment, arts and culture. This list, which is not ranked, represents the most influential thought leaders of 2023.

Amantea, originally from Turin, joined the Automobili Pininfarina team in 2018 as director of exterior design, a role in which he shaped the pure electric Battista hyper GT, the Battista Anniversario and, most recently, the exclusive Battista Edizione Nino Farina.

In 2022, he was appointed design director, developing the company's PURA design philosophy – with an elegant silhouette, dramatic proportions and clean surfaces – that sets the template for all future models. The first incarnation of his approach was the PURA Vision design concept, which made its world premiere this summer, quickly followed by the Automobili Pininfarina B95, the world's first pure electric Barchetta hyper.

Dave Amantea, Head of Design at Automobili Pininfarina, explained: "I am incredibly proud to receive this prestigious honor. This award is a recognition of our teams in Cambiano, Munich and representatives around the world who make the dream of Automobili Pininfarina a reality. As company, we are a family of incredibly talented people who collaborate to deliver purity of design, performance and elegance. This recognition underscores Automobili Pininfarina's position as an industry leader that is setting the model for others to follow."

Inclusion on Bloomberg Businessweek's "Ones to Watch" list caps a successful year for Amantea and Automobili Pininfarina. In 2023, Dave and his team have already successfully designed and introduced the world's first hyperelectric Barchetta, the B95, as well as the impressive PURA Vision e-LUV design concept.

In September, it collected the trophy for "Best use of materials in design" for the PURA Vision, awarded by CarDesign Spain. The focus on sustainability and quality is evident throughout the vehicle. Inspired by luxury sailboats, it features carefully selected materials in an intuitive, technology-rich cabin, designed to offer occupants only the information and services they need.

The application of sophisticated, authentic and highly tactile materials contributes to a unique feeling of handcrafted contemporary luxury. Each of the four individual seats features a crisp white finish, while the charcoal leather on the dashboard and tops of the doors provides a continuous 360-degree accent band around the interior. Soft, sustainably produced semi-aniline leather is mixed with a distinctive textile fabric throughout the cabin, elevating the feeling of exceptional quality integrated into the vehicle's design.

The PURA Vision marked new success for the brand by receiving the "Gold" award at the New York Product Design Awards 2023. The recognition in the "Automotive and Transportation - Cars and Motorcycles" category reaffirms the commitment of Automobili Pininfarina with innovative and sustainable design. The annual awards recognize the designs of product designers, design teams and manufacturers who have improved everyday life with their practical and ingenious creations.

Design leadership is a fundamental part of Automobili Pininfarina's business, and opportunities to join a world-class team are highly coveted. Automobili Pininfarina's team of expert in-house designers are looking to expand with new positions in Cambiano, Italy.
