Madrid, November 6, 2023.- The Spanish Confederation of Senior Organizations (CEOMA) and Cámara Certifica have signed a collaboration agreement according to which the independent certification and verification entity will help CEOMA in the final verification of companies that want join its 'Friendly Companies' project. This is an initiative that aims to make private entities and public administrations aware of the need to treat older people with respect, and design products and services that take into account the needs and preferences of older people.
The signing ceremony of the agreement, which was held at the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, was attended by the president of CEOMA, Sabina Camacho; the managing director of Cámara Certifica, Martín Pita; and Matilde Pelegrí, member of the plenary session of the Madrid Chamber and also founder and CEO of the SENDA Group, member of the Madrid Chamber Club.
The agreement establishes that CEOMA creates the brand and the accreditation system, is responsible for the direct relationship with the entities interested in being part of the program and has its own Accreditation Committee, which decides the granting and constant improvement of the system, with five axes of friendliness, 50 criteria and a total of 500 points. The accreditation system addresses in an integrated manner the level of the company's management - its design, strategy and deployment of policies - and its activity in the centers or offices - the relationship and attention to elderly clients.
Once the seals have been granted by the Committee, Cámara Certifica, whose majority partner is AENOR, and which has the participation of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce, is in charge of verifying the processes and thus giving greater strength to the project. The renewal of accreditation will be validated every three years by the Accreditation Committee.
With this agreement, CEOMA wants to "promote good treatment and cover the needs that older people request and claim," according to Camacho Calderón.
The 'Friendly Companies' program was born with the purpose of raising awareness about the importance of avoiding falling into stereotypes and ageism, taking into account the institutional or commercial relationship with older people and the generational diversity between employees and older people.
The initiative aims to promote actions and training actions so that companies are friendly to older people, based on a series of items created by CEOMA, in collaboration with Albor Consultor and the Technical Training Forum, to achieve good treatment by workers and the management of the entities that provide their services to this population group.
