TAICANG, China, Dec. 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference on Green and Sustainable Development (2022) and the China-EU High-Level Forum on Sustainable Development were held on December 10-11 in Taicang, China Jiangsu, to promote cooperation between China and Europe on climate action and sustainable development. The conference was jointly hosted by the Chinese People's Institute for Foreign Affairs and the China Society for Industrial Economics, and organized by the China-EU Carbon Neutral Cooperation Office (CECCO), the Center for International Economic and Technological Cooperation of the Ministry Industry and Information Technology.

Under the theme "Synergy of Green and Digital Transition and China's Practice", the Conference launched the China-EU Carbon Neutrality Innovation Cooperation Pilot Projects, held thematic discussions at the Symposium on "Digitalization drives green sustainable development" and the China-Europe Forum of Carbon Neutral Cities, and launched the Earth Aspiration Action (E2A) initiative."

The opening ceremony was moderated by Zhang Ji, President of the China Society for Industrial Economics. The conference was attended by world climate pioneers and heads of Chinese and European national or regional organizations. The speakers noted that China's promotion of synergistic green and digital development has broadened the feasible pathway for common challenges facing the world, and given new impetus to global sustainable development. Witnessed by Chinese and European leaders, international organizations, Chinese and European governments and enterprises signed cooperation agreements to establish the China-EU Cooperation Zone for Green and Digital Innovation (Taicang), implement the China-EU Cooperation Pilot Project for Green Innovation in Carbon Neutrality (Taicang), in an attempt to explore a green and sustainable development model shared by China and Europe, build a diversified China-Europe partnership network, and promote the application and promotion of China-EU Cooperation Pilot Projects for Innovation in Carbon Neutrality. Certificates were issued to 28 selected projects (as shown below) in China and Europe by 2022 and MoUs were signed. The China-EU Carbon Neutral Cooperation Office (CECCO) has released the Annual Report on China-EU Carbon Neutral Industrial Cooperation, together with international partners such as Roland Berger.
