A leader with more than 20 years of experience in the industrial and life sciences sectors, Herrema will lead Discovery's next phase of expansion. He succeeds Glenn Bilawsky, who announced plans to step down after leading Discovery's transformation into a global provider of biological specimen products and multi-omics laboratory services.

Herrema joins Discovery after a successful career at Thermo Fisher Scientific, where he served as senior vice president and president of the global life sciences company's more than $8 billion laboratory supplies distribution business.
