The Llum BCN Festival is one of the most anticipated cultural events and in its twelfth edition it will once again turn Poblenou de Barcelona into a free open-air museum. On this occasion, Llum BCN will have the support of Yamaha, which, as the main sponsor, has developed the Yamaha Light Meeting Point lighting project, created by a group of five students from the Master's in Ephemeral Architecture at the UPC (Polytechnic University of Catalonia), selected by the brand and the Barcelona Institute of Culture, through a talent contest and supervised by Saeta Estudi.

Barbara Marshall, Amy Labastida, Elisa González-Aréchiga, Javiera González and Carolina Contreras, winners of the Yamaha contest, define this experience as something truly enriching, which has allowed them to share and work professionally with people from different countries. Thanks to their collaboration with the brand, they highlight having had the opportunity to explore light on a technical level to design a sensory space that remains in tune and in harmony with the city of Barcelona.

Their collective project, called 'Velocidad y Control', was born from an in-depth analysis of the sensations that are generated from speed. With this installation, its authors intend to provoke an adrenaline-filled experience, a mixture of emotion, pleasure and energy: they seek to simulate the union of a game between science fiction -a distant evocation of the Tron motorcycle race- and the nostalgia of the attractions of forever. The interaction with the users takes place under an effect of confronting reflective mirrors (with a spy effect that is not totally opaque) that generates the illusion of an infinite tunnel of light through a superposition of large rings. A sequence of circles is created with programmed led lighting limited by two large circular mirrors that further increases the feeling of escape. Framed in this vertiginous visual tunnel are two Yamaha electric motorcycles that visitors can use to virtually traverse this vanishing structure and incorporate their own image into the visual experience. It should be noted that it is accessible throughout its perimeter, with a multidirectional flow.

With this initiative, Yamaha wants to support emerging artists as part of its CSR policy, in close relationship with the cultural and educational field of the city. This project will be located in the gardens of Ca l'Aranyó - C. Ciutat de Granada, 150, adding to the rest of the facilities that will be shown to the public and that are part of the Llum BCN Festival, which will be held from February 3 to 5 .
