NEWS AKTUELL // Munich/Barcelona.- In the fight against climate change, the voluntary commitment of companies continues to play a crucial role. At the same time, the regulatory framework is changing and existing sustainability standards are being challenged. Therefore, ClimatePartner has developed a new solution with "ClimatePartner Certification", which takes into account the increased demands for comprehensive climate action and, in particular, the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Companies wishing to use this new ClimatePartner label must make an initial calculation of their carbon footprint and recalculate it regularly. Even if companies only plan to use the label for a single product, they must set organizational reduction targets and demonstrate that they have already implemented reduction measures. In addition, companies must contribute to global climate action by financing climate projects. The new "ClimatePartner Certification" label is a confirmation and symbol of a company's commitment to climate action. Refers via a link or QR code to an individual climate identification page, through which consumers can access the company's climate action journey. With a single click, it is possible to see, among other things, which reduction measures have already been implemented and which goals the company is pursuing for long-term climate action.

Moritz Lehmkuhl, founder and CEO of ClimatePartner, explains: "Our new label 'ClimatePartner Certification' not only raises higher demands for commitment to climate action, but also confirms that this is pursued in the long term and becomes part of the strategy This is a decisive evolution, because it is no longer about individual climate action efforts, but about continuous reduction in combination with transparency in companies' sustainability strategy."

The contribution to climate action for individual services or events is still possible.

As climate projects continue to be an indispensable part of global climate action, ClimatePartner will also offer the possibility to support such projects for those companies that are not yet as advanced in their sustainability strategy or are not able to meet the most demanding requirements. tall. As a rule, these are companies that are at the beginning of their journey towards climate action or specific projects or unique services, for example events, for which long-term reduction targets cannot be defined. In these cases, it is possible to support certified climate projects to help generate the investments that are urgently needed to reach the 1.5 degree target. This voluntary commitment can also be indicated by a "financial climate contribution" label.

In this case, maximum transparency is vital: * We have seen in the past how important it is that climate action is visible and that both companies and end consumers commit to it*, adds Lehmkuhl. *In this regard, we continue our strategy of helping companies credibly communicate their commitment to climate action through our climate identification page. Here, consumers can also find out on a website which climate projects have been supported."

The label that ClimatePartner used until now, *carbon neutral*, will expire after a transition phase and will no longer be available.
