Madrid, March 16, 2023. MEDAC Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to generate positive change in society, and Siemens Healthineers, a leading health technology company, come together to promote training in the area of diagnostic imaging with simulation tools. Thus, the MEDAC Foundation will become a reference center for new applications and training products from Siemens Healthineers.

The collaboration agreement between both entities also includes the fact that six biomedical research centers of the MEDAC Foundation –located in Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Granada, Almería and Zaragoza– have exclusive solutions such as the Smart Simulator, in addition to having licenses for VR XRay. With this, MEDAC Foundation Superior Diagnostic Imaging technicians will be able to continuously practice and train with Virtual Reality to improve their skills and achieve greater efficiency in their training.

"There are numerous studies that show that simulation and virtual reality solutions have a positive impact on the training of professionals. With this agreement, Siemens Healthineers demonstrates its commitment to society by bringing technological advances to educational environments. The technicians of the Foundation MEDAC will benefit from the use of these technologies, resulting in the improvement of their skills and access to the labor market", highlights Rosa Gómez, head of training at Siemens Healthineers Spain.

In addition, Siemens Healthineers will also offer the MEDAC Foundation's X-ray technicians training in ultrasound imaging and will award recognition to the best file, which will have the opportunity to visit the company's headquarters in Germany.

Finally, both entities will launch a pilot study on simulation training, through which they will analyze the differences between students who are trained with Siemens Healthineers tools and those who have not been trained with this technology. This study will be carried out with the collaboration of the Hospital Rey Juan Carlos de Móstoles, another of the collaborating organizations of the MEDAC Foundation.

"At the biomedical research centers of the MEDAC Foundation, we seek alliances with the most cutting-edge companies to carry out our projects and research studies in the health field. We are proud to have Siemens Healthineers and that our diagnostic imaging technicians use its exclusive technology, with which we are sure they will improve their skills and achieve greater efficiency in their studies", underlines the general director of the MEDAC Foundation, Sonia Ordóñez.
