Valle del Jerte, February 2022.- Next Wednesday, March 1, the XII Technical Conferences will be held, organized by the Regulatory Council of the Protected Designation of Origin Cereza del Jerte, at the Valle del Jerte Spa Hotel (Valdastillas, Cáceres).
The Conference will be inaugurated with the intervention of the General Director of Agriculture and Livestock of the Junta de Extremadura, Mr. Antonio Cabezas. From this moment on, various topics will be discussed such as 'The digital notebook of agricultural exploitation and other aspects of sustainable use of phytosanitary products' by the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Mrs. Almudena Labrador; Subsequently, the CAEM - CICYTEX expert Mr. Pablo Bañuls will speak about 'Good agricultural practices in the varieties protected by the D.O.P Cereza del Jerte'. Next, the situation of the 'Cherries in the world, in Spain and in Extremadura' will be analyzed by the agri-food consultant, Mr. Paco Borrás.
In addition, the value of the quality seal of a Denomination of Origin will be discussed in a round table in which they will discuss 'The current situation of the D.O.P Cereza del Jerte and its future prospects', as well as the 'C.R.D.O.P of the Granada Mollar de Elche' and will consider "whether it is worth continuing to bet on the D.O.P Cereza del Jerte". After these sessions, a round of questions will be opened in which attendees can ask any questions they want on the topics covered.
Finally, the Conference will be closed by the General Secretary of Science, Technology, Innovation and University of the Junta de Extremadura, Jesús Alonso.
