Valladolid, December 14, 2022.- The Vallsur shopping center, owned by Castellana Properties, will invest 16.7 million euros for the renovation and transformation of a total of 13,000 square meters of its commercial offer, with the aim of reinforcing its leadership in leisure and catering.

The new Vallsur project will have a new restaurant area of ​​more than 1,600 square meters, under the Food Court format, with a new gastronomic offer that will complement the existing one on the 2nd floor. Likewise, more than 2,500 square meters will be allocated to the creation of new family leisure concepts and a children's play structure that will unite the three floors. In addition, the offer of rooms at the Cines Yelmo Premium will also be expanded and the offer will be completed with new spaces and commercial concepts to enrich and satisfy the leisure offer of the city. Actions will also be carried out on the façade and in the area of ​​the outer roof of the car park.

"This repositioning of Vallsur aims to strengthen our relationship with the city and confirm our reference position as a family center and meeting point for the people of Valladolid and its province, with a proposal for the enjoyment of customers of all ages in the heart of the city”, explains Pablo Pérez, manager of Vallsur.

The renovation works will begin in January 2023 and are expected to end in the first quarter of 2024. They will be carried out mainly on the first and second floors of the shopping center and will be carried out at night, minimizing customer inconvenience and maintaining retail activities. all center operators.

Sustainability and design

The project also includes the installation of a photovoltaic plant on practically the entire roof of the center, designed to significantly reduce the center's energy consumption. The creation of some 200 bicycle parking spaces is also contemplated to encourage physical exercise together with sustainable transport and the deployment of a significant number of electric vehicle charging points.

Following the company's commitment to the city, the project has been developed by a technical team from Valladolid led by the architect Alfonso González Gaisán, with the support of the technical team of Castellana Properties. Regarding the aesthetic and decorative updating of both the interior and exterior, the reform proposes the renovation of the interior design following the latest trends in the sector. The changes to the façade will be made to improve the exterior presence of the center and the interior will provide greater revitalization of the commercial areas with cozy restaurant terraces, as well as children's attractions and leisure areas for the whole family.
