Vladimir Putin: USA impose new sanctions on Russia

The US has imposed sanctions on seven Russian oligarchs. This will punish Russia for its attempts to "undermine" Western democracies, Ministry of Finance in Washington shared. According to figures from US government circles, seven high-net-worth businessmen belong to "inner circle" of President Vladimir Putin.

According to figures, oligarchs involved played a key role in Kremlin's policy: y would have benefited from a corrupt system and its attempts to destabilize.

No less than 38 Russian companies and individuals were affected, it was said. The measures were not triggered by a single event. "They are based on growing pattern of malignant activities of Russia in world."

The sanctions were carefully coordinated with European allies. As early as mid-March, US government had announced punitive measures against 19 people and five organizations from Russia.

USA want to oppose Russia

"Russia has opted for a course of confrontation," government officials said. It was furr said: "Moscow supports Assad regime, which kills small children with chemical weapons, perpetrates attacks in cyberspace and tries to influence elections."

The sanctions were not directed against Russian people: "We want a better relationship with Russia, that only goes through a change in Moscow's behaviour." As long as Russia tries to destabilize world, US would argue. The new sanctions would be imposed in addition to all existing ones.
