World Weather organisation: 2017 was one of the three warmest years

In fact, a cooling effect should have been effective last year. The World Weather organisation sees clear signs of a man-made climate change.

World Weather organisation: 2017 was one of the three warmest years

According to World Wear organisation WMO, 2017 was one of three warmest years since beginning of records almost 170 years ago. This was shared by UN organization. The record as year with highest average temperature overall holds 2016. The last year 2017 was refore warmest year ever measured without climate phenomenon El Niño.

The series of heat records is a clear sign of climate change, triggered by increasing concentration of climate-damaging greenhouse gases in atmosphere, WMO has shared. 2017 have located temperature as well as 2015 about 1.1 degrees Celsius above those of pre-industrial time. The difference between two years is not statistically significant. 2016, latest data were around 1.2 degrees. Compared to average of years 1981 to 2010, temperature last year was 0.46 degrees higher.

As a result, warming is approaching threshold set by Paris climate agreement. In this, nearly 200 states agreed that global warming should be limited to significantly below two degrees from pre-industrial time.

2017 warmest ever measured la-Niña-year

"17 of 18 warmest years have been around since turn of millennium, and degree of warming over past three years has been extraordinary," said WMO General secretary Petteri Taalas. "The warming in Arctic is particularly pronounced." This will have a long-lasting impact on wear in or regions of world.

Unlike 2017, in two previous years wear phenomenon El Niño contributed to high average temperature, according to WMO. One feature of El Niño is increased sea temperatures, which affects wear worldwide. At beginning and end of last year, La Niña – counterpart to El Niño with a really cooling effect – was observed. Neverless, 2017 was among warmest years.

Thus, 2017 is warmest ever measured la-Niña-year. In USA last year, due to extreme wear with numerous hurricanes, wear was as high as ever before, according to Taalas. Or countries have also experienced more floods and droughts.
