AAUW Easton

The Easton Branch of the American Association of University Women is offering scholarships to young women from Easton/Phillipsburg area high schools planning to attend a two- or four-year accredited college or university. Applicants must be high school seniors in the top 20 percent of their class.

Scholarships are also being offered to women whose college education was interrupted and now wish to return to college to complete their degree.

All scholarships are based on financial need and academic merit.

Application forms are available online at Easton-pa.aauw.net, or call 610-923-6570.

Scholarships are funded by the annual AAUW Authors' Luncheon, which will be held April 29 at the Pomfret Club in Easton.

Simon Youth Foundation/Lehigh Valley Mall

Lehigh Valley Mall is once again ready to help a deserving graduating senior pay for college. Simon Youth Foundation, a national nonprofit that provides educational opportunities for at-risk high school students, is looking for qualified applicants who live near Lehigh Valley Mall and the surrounding community.

Each year, Simon Youth Community Scholarships are awarded in every community across the country that is home to Simon, Mills, or Premium Outlets malls. The application period has begun and ends on March 1.

Students can apply online by visiting syf.org/scholarships.

Any student who will be graduating in the class of 2017 and lives in the community surrounding a Simon property is eligible. Applicants can check their eligibility by entering their ZIP code at syf.org/scholarships.

Recipients will receive up to $1,500 to enroll in an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school.

PPL Foundation STEM scholarship

Financial need shouldn't stop promising students from pursuing science, math, engineering or technology careers. A new scholarship at Northampton Community College, funded by the PPL Foundation, will help break down that barrier.

The college recently received a $25,000 grant from the foundation to create the PPL STEM Scholarship, which will support young people interested in these critical areas of study.

The scholarship will be given to an academically talented student with financial need from one of NCC's eight sponsoring school districts - Bangor Area, Bethlehem Area, Easton Area, Nazareth Area, Northampton Area, Pen Argyl Area, Saucon Valley, and Wilson Area.

Students who plan to attend the college and have an interest in STEM can apply for this scholarship and others online.
