HANOVER -- Dolores Catania is getting ready for the eighth season of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" and is dispensing fitness advice at her new gym.

"You can't set this huge, high goal for yourself. It's intimidating and you won't start," Catania said at the grand opening Saturday of Powerhouse Fitness Center, located on Route 10 in the Whippany section of Hanover.

It is the latest business venture for Catania, a mother of two from North Haledon who presided at a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Catania owns several gyms but acknowledged staying in shape has been extra challenging, due to her entrepreneurial and 'Real Housewives' demands.

"I've fallen off the wagon, as we say. I have to start slow," said Catania, who recommended a 40-minute cardio workout, three times per week, as a reasonable goal for newcomers.

"You can't set this huge, high goal for yourself because it's intimidating and you won't start," Catania said.

Asked about 'Real Housewives,' Catania said filming for the next season is starting Feb. 20.

The last episode of the reality show's seventh season aired in October.

"We all left off at very pivotal times in our lives as cast members," Catania said.

"We have a lot of relatable things going on in our lives that so many women are going to want to tune into and say, 'Hey, you know what, I'm going through that too, I'm not alone,'" Catania said.
