The police in belarus said on Wednesday it had fired guns on demonstrators who were protesting on Tuesday against the results of the presidential election in the south of the country, the fire having injured.

The protests against the re-election to the presidency of the leader is the authoritarian Alexander Lukashenko, in power for 26 years, rocking Minsk, the capital, and several other cities of the country since Sunday evening.
