A federal appeals court in Boston overturned Friday the conviction to death of Djokhar Tsarnaev for the bombing of the Boston marathon in 2013, and remanded the case to the competent court to decide a new penalty.

The court overturned that part of the judgment on the charges, which are punishable by the death penalty. Even if this cancellation was confirmed after re-examination, Djokhar Tsarnaev would remain so sentenced, at minimum, to life in prison, has warned the court of appeal.
