A train derailed Wednesday morning in an area north-east of Scotland affected by severe weather, which killed three people, including its driver, and six wounded.

The emergency services were called to 09h43 local (10h43) to the result of the derailment of the train, consisting of four cars and a party to 6h38 of Aberdeen in the direction of Glasgow. The accident occurred near Stonehaven, about 25 miles south of Aberdeen, where the rail traffic was disrupted due to landslides.
